Due to the way inkjet printers function, there is a risk of permanent damage to the printhead when liquid ink is dried in the printhead creating a blockage. This is a problem when the user has a low volume of printouts for a period of time and/or when the printer is left unused for weeks/months at a time. One of the problems with all inkjet printers, is the tendency for the ink system and printhead to naturally dry out over time. You can replace the print head, but if you continue to leave your printer for extended periods of time without printing, you can expect the problem to occur again in the future.
